George Dawe

Executive Vice President

George Dawe is executive vice president of DATC and a member of DATC’s Board of Managers. At Duke Energy, Dawe leads business development activities for the company’s Commercial Transmission group, a position he has held since October 2009. Dawe is also vice president of Pioneer Transmission, LLC.

Previously, Dawe served as a director in Duke Energy’s Federal Energy & Regulatory Policy group, a position he held from 2000. Before that, he was the manager of transmission services in the Grid Operations group. In that role, he was responsible for sales of transmission capacity and business development activities for Duke Energy’s Electric Transmission business unit. Dawe began his Duke Energy career with Algonquin Gas Transmission Co. (PanEnergy) in 1982 and held various positions in operations, marketing and business development. Shortly after the Duke Power – PanEnergy merger in 1996, he relocated to Charlotte, N.C., and began the transition to the electric industry.

Dawe holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Ramapo College of New Jersey.
