Chris Jones serves as a Vice President of Duke-American Transmission Company, LLC and has been the Director for the Zephyr Power Transmission Project since its acquisition in 2011. Jones also serves as a Managing Director in Duke Energy’s Commercial Transmission group where he has led business development activities since 2010.
Jones has over twenty-five years experience in varied roles in the independent power and natural gas industries. Jones began his Duke Energy career in 1987 with Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Company as a design engineer. He joined PanEnergy International Development Company in 1996 as Manager, Business Development. In 1999, Jones was named Director, Acquisitions and Divestitures for Duke Energy International. In that role, he supported efforts to acquire and develop generation and natural gas projects in Latin America and Asia. From 2007 to 2010, Jones served as Managing Director, Business Development for Duke Energy’s Commercial Power Business. In that role, he led business development, and acquisition and divestiture activities for Duke Energy’s independent power generation business in the Midwest.
Jones holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri, and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Houston.
